Pulsed multichannel spectrometric tool PIMS-90
Designed to determine geological material composition, element weight content, first of all, carbon and oxygen content, by recording gamma ray spectrum of inelastic scattering and radiative capture of neutrons, induced by pulsed neutron generator, and also to measure natural radioactive element weight content in geological material: thorium (Th), uranium (U) and potassium (K).
Applied in wells with open or cased hole with any circulation fluid type.
Active tasks:
- assessment of current oil saturation factor (C/O logging);
- determination of water intrusion intervals;
- correlation of well logs and lithologic changes;
- detailed lithologic differentiation; shaliness assessment;
- stratigraphic studies;
- reservoir porosity and permeability determination / clarification;
- geological material mineral composition determination / clarification.
Probe is equipped with a compartment to install pulsed neutron source (generator), with two gamma radiation scintillation detectors.
