Pulsed neutron logging tool PINK-43
Designed to carry out borehole pulsed neutron logging techniques. Pulsed neutron generator with preset frequency radiates geological materials around the borehole tool. At double distance from pulsed neutron source gamma-ray detectors (modification of 2INGK (2ИНГК)) or thermal neutron detectors (modification of 2INNK (2ИННК)) record time spectrum of gamma-ray or thermal neutrons respectively.
Used to explore open hole or cased wells including through tubing during well operation.
Active tasks:
- determination of current oil saturation on oil fields with oilfield brine over 50 g/l;
- determination of gas-liquid contact;
- monitoring over frac job fracture penetration when using marked propant agent;
- lithologic sectional layering.
In modification 2INNK (2ИННК) time spectrum of thermal neutrons are recorded through both probes in 64 time channels, 40 μs each.
Detector units – proportional or corona helium counter tubes (He-3). On the distant probe a HP helium counter tube is used to increase accuracy of performed measurements.
In modification 2INGK (2ИНГК) time spectrum of radiative capture gamma-ray are recorded through both probes in 64 time channels, 40 μs each. Detector units – scintillation crystals NaI(Tl).
In both modifications pulsed neutron generator ING-10-50-120 (ИНГ-10-50-120) or similar with neutron output up to 1×108 neutrons/sec is used as neutron source with energy of 14 MeV.
If necessary it can be equipped with gamma-ray logging channel to measure natural radioactivity of geological materials and with collar locator to measure boring casing integrity and/or tubing.
